MGEA Benefits

MGEA was formed in 1993 by geothermal contractors, manufacturers, distributors, and electric utilities to promote high quality geothermal energy systems that meet the comfort, efficiency, and environmental needs of customers.

Over the years, the volunteer help of board and committee members has given MGEA a strong base for future growth, and has enabled the Association to put its resources into the development of marketing programs and member services. Here's what you get as a member:

• MGEA website offers greater exposure for your business and a new consumer e-mail newsletter will bring consumers to the website and to you
• Michigan Geothermal Showcase, the premier gathering of geothermal professionals in Michigan
• Distinctive MGEA logo, a recognizable rallying point for members
• Member recognition, via a preprinted brochure of MGEA members used by electric utilities and MGEA to provide dealer options to prospective customers
• Geothermal Energy Training Program, developed in concert with the HVACR Department of Ferris State University, and available through ACCA, trains and certifies technicians on the equipment side of the system

• Arbitration service, through a novel arrangement with Michigan's Better Business Bureaus, gives contractors and homeowners a way to settle disputes without going to court
• How to Choose a Quality Geothermal Contractor, a brochure that guides homeowners through the task of finding the right contractor for them
• Down-to-Earth tabloid, a four-page marketing piece with general information on geothermal for interested consumers
• MGEA also has an 800 number for member and public use, promotes the Association and its members in trade shows, and sponsors geothermal workshops
• Your bottom line: Your Association builds the industry, which, in turn, builds your business.
